A friend shared a photo with me that he had taken while in Oregon which launched the idea for this painting. He had pulled his car over at just the right moment to capture the dramatic lighting caused by an impending storm late that afternoon. I have always loved stormy skies, the formidable clouds, the feel of the wind kicking up, and the earthy smell of rain just before the heavens open. Nothing makes me feel more alive!
