My many long walks along the cobble-strewn shores of Puget Sound inspired "Rocks in Shallow Water". I have always been taken with the myriad of rich warm hues and smooth round shapes of these glacial artifacts. Unfortunately, when you pick up a wet cobblestone and allow it to dry it loses much of its depth of color. That is why I decided to paint these rocks in shallow water so as to capture the rich warmth and vitality I am so drawn to.
